This research from Gartner shows that interest in standards and best-practice frameworks to support software asset management is increasing, but uptake of SAM-specific standards and frameworks is low. Software asset managers should take time to assess the available standards and frameworks, and understand and quantify the potential benefits and barriers to adoption as part of SAM implementation or improvement.
